The Dread Knight is a type of warrior who is using Dark Magic to damage, and bring fear to his enemies. These grim warriors also use their Dark Magic to empower and augment their already potent martial abilities.
The aura of fear that Dread Knight radiates in combat demoralizes and weakens any opponent who dares draw near.
The Dread Knight is a terrifying opponent who surrounds himself in battle with a tangible pall of fear and despair.

The Dreadful Knight wears Heavy armor, which is either heavy mail, or plate. The armor of the Dread Knight is often enchanted with powerful spells that makes the Dread Knight even deadlier.

The Dread Knight is often using twohanded weapons, like twohanded swords, -axes and -maces, but they might also be wielding a shield which they put to great use, which makes them almost invincible, with their already powerful auras that raises their defense- and blockrating.

Death Knight Class (16.03.2008

The Death Knight class is one of the newer classes in the world-famous WoW WotLK. Blizzard have developed the from being an undead spellcaster unit study which made its appearance in Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness.
Back then, the Death Knight could be more accurately described as a horseback-mounted lich - rather than the traditional death knight commonly depicted in other fantasy games, like the WoW expansion that I mentioned earlier.
The second generation of Death Knight is an actual Fallen Hero, which possesses his/hers memory, knowledge, body, personality and everything else, except his/hers free will. The Fallen Hero will be in the state of eternal undeath reanimated by the Lich King.
Unlike Death Knights of the Old Horde, modern Death Knights are not limited to their use of ranged spell casting abilities. Modern Death Knights are exceptionally skilled in the arts of physical combat, and masters in the skill of melee abilities.

So, the Death Knight is pretty much like the Dread Knight (thanks to Dark Angel's comment I now realize that).
But the Death Knight is more like a Necromancer when the Dread focusses more on being a dark Paladdin.

They also wield the same armor and weapons, except that the Death Knight doesn't wear that heavy armor, since it is often riding an undead horse. (No, undead-horses are NOT able to carry anything, no matter how ehavy it is.! Evil or Very Mad

Your description on the "Dread Knight" sounds very much like the Death Knight? Maybe its just me, but untill someone makes the "Class suggestion Death Knight" could you maybe describe the differences between those two?
Thanks in advance!

Here is the Death Knight story in Warcraft:
The Death Knights were once virtuous defenders of Humanity. However, once the Paladin ranks were disbanded by the failing Alliance, many of these holy warriors traveled to the quarantined lands to ease the suffering of those left within the plague-ridden colonies. Though the Paladins were immune to disease of any kind, they were persecuted by the general populace who believed that they had been infected by the foul plague. A small band of Paladins, embittered by society's cruelty, traveled north to find the plague's source. These renegade Paladins succumbed to bitter hatred over the course of their grueling quest. When they finally reached Ner'zhul's icy fortress in Northrend they had become dark and brooding. The Lich King offered them untold power and immortality in exchange for their services and loyalty. The weary, vengeful warriors accepted his dark pact, and although they retained their humanity, their twisted souls were bound to his evil will for all time. Bestowed with black, vampiric Runeblades, shadowy steeds and other mighty dark creatures, Death Knights was to serve as the Scourge's mightiest generals.

A Death Knight is regulary not a spellcaster but they always have some kind of powerful helping abilities!
And they are either wearing a heavy armor if they're on foot like the alive human Paladin or then mostly lesser heavy armor when mounted! (On other Undead creatures there can wear heavy armor cause they cant ride on Undead Horses) I must agree with Shadespeaker that it is impossible for any Undead Horse to carry anything more than maybe just a Skeleton Soldier as seen in the Warhammer Univers!

The only reason why Arthas as an Undead Hero in the Warcraft Univers has the reanimate ability is because that he is the Champion, "The chosen one" by the Lich King. Normally Death Knight dont use revive or reanimate abilities but specialize in the art of melee combat and having unimaginable part of both HP and HP generation!
I must then say that i am rather confident about that the Death Knight should have abilities like the Death Coil and Death Pact ability
The Death Knight in Warcraft is also mentioned as the Healing Knight because 3 of his abilities (Death Coil, Death Pact, Unholy Aura) can be used to heal damage. The Death Knight's Death Coil ability makes him useful for healing units and for attacking other Heroes for a reasonable amount of damage. His Unholy Aura ability makes him helpful in large groups of allied units!
